WhatsApp video call has now being launched officially today, November 2016. The WhatsApp video call app feature is now rolled out to iPhone, Android, and Windows users.

  1. Open Google Play and search for WhatsApp
  2. Open WhatsApp’s Google Play listing
  3. Scroll dow towards the bottom of the page
  4. In the section that says Become a beta tester tap on I’M IN
  5. Confirm on the next screen and wait for a few minutes
  6. Come back to WhatsApp listing page on Google Play
  7. You should see an option to Update WhatsApp to beta version
  8. Update the app

Another alternatively is that you can download the WhatsApp APK that comes with support for WhatsApp video calling (v2.16.354) from sites like APK Mirror or APK Pure.

I’ll advise you go with the steps above and avoid any risks that may come with downloading the WhatsApp APK.

If you’ve followed any of the methods above, it means that you are now running on the latest WhatsApp beta for Android devices. Using this also comes with support for WhatsApp video calls and other new features that come with the WhatsApp app.

If you want to sign up for WhatsApp beta on Windows Phone, then you will need to send a mail to support@whatsapp.com asking for a spot on the beta. This process will be quite slow since it involves human intervention. But once you are in the beta, you will be given access to make WhatsApp video calls on Windows Mobile.
