Dancing with the Stars Elimination: Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke out as James Hinchcliffe wins immunity with new partner

Dancing with the Stars Elimination during Monday night’s episode of Dancing with the stars season 23 performance show on the ABC Network saw the elimination of another dancing couple.

During Monday’s night episode, Olympic gold swimmer Ryan Lochte and his professional partner Cheryl Burke was eliminated rom the reality TV Show.

This Dancing with the Stars Elimination of Ryan Lochte and Cheryl became the seventh elimination of the on the competition. The Dancing with the Stars Elimination is also based on the combination of Dancing with the Stars judges scores and also home viewer votes which was received during last week’s performance on the show.

Following his Dancing with the Stars Elimination, Ryan said…

“I learned a lot about myself, that I could — no matter how hard I get knocked down, I can keep fighting.” “And this family, I love it and I’m sad that I’m going home, but everyone here has touched me in a special place right here, so I’ll always remember that.”

The eliminated dance couple consistently landed towards the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard during every show which lead up to their Week 8 elimination.

The other couple in jeopardy prior to the Dancing with the Stars Elimination of Ryan and Cheryl was Terra Jole and partner Sasha Farber. But the couple were not necessarily one of the bottom-two couples based on judges’ scores and also viewers votes.

“Halloween Night” was the theme of Monday night’s broadcast, where each of the remaining seven couples performed a spooky routine in an attempt to land the highest score from the Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli.

The dance couple that earns the highest score in Round 1 of the show would win immunity, which means that they’d be safe from elimination during Monday’s night Dancing with the Stars Elimination, and also five additional bonus points.

In the second round, the couples that did not win immunity were now required to participate in “America’s Choice Dance-Off” where two dance couples must go head-to-head at a time dancing either the salsa, cha cha, or jive.

The judges and home viewers voted the winner for each dance-off. The winning couples also earned three bonus points each on top of their first score. Solo moments were also added in each dance-off with the results displayed live on the screen.

Professional race car driver James Hinchcliffe had to switch partners because of Sharna Burgess’ recent knee injury. And despite that, he still topped Monday night’s judges leaderboard in first place with 35 out of 35 total points.

James and his new dance partner Jenna Johnson, who was previously eliminated from Dancing with the Stars Season 23, first took the stage with a Suicide Squad-themed Viennese waltz, earning a perfect score of 30 points from Carrie Ann, Julianne and Bruno.

Although other dance couples also earned 30 points in the Halloween round, James earned the highest cumulative judges scores so far this season, and was named as the victor. James and partner Jenna won five points and so did not need to compete in “America’s Choice Dance Off.”

Laurie Hernandez and dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy finished in second place on the judges’ leaderboard with a total of 33 points. The duo initially performed a 30-point worthy Viennese waltz inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Laurie and her partner later earned three extra points for defeating Calvin Johnson Jr. and partner Lindsay Arnold in their dance-off. Carrie Ann, Julianne and Bruno all agreed that Laurie and Val had won, with 63% of home viewers also voting for them to win.

Calvin and Lindsay fell into a tie for third place as a result of that on the leaderboard with singer Jana Kramer and partner Gleb Savchenko.

Calvin and Lindsay took the stage originally with a fun quickstep routine where they dressed up as skeletons. The pair earned a perfect score of 30 points from the judges for it.

Jana and Gleb danced first and earned 27 points for a jazz routine that was inspired by The Little Shop of Horrors. They however, received three bonus points for winning their dance-off against Terra and Sasha, while just two Dancing with the Stars judges voted for Jana and Gleb’s victory, with 54% of viewers votes in their favour.

For fifth place on the leaderboard, it went to the dance couple Ryan and Cheryl with a total of 26 points. Their first Halloween routine was a Maleficent tango, which earned 23 points from the judges. The pair also won their dance-off against Marilu Henner and dance partner Derek Hough.

Only two out of the three judges voted for Ryan and Cheryl to win the dance-off, but the viewers vote with a 58% majority enabled them to win an three additional points.

Finishing in sixth place was Terra and Sasha with a total of 24 points. The pair lost in the dance-off phase, but performed a high-energy cha cha routine inspired by Beetlejuice.

Last in the seventh place with a total of 23 poits on the leaderboard was Marilu and Derek. The pair lost their lost their dance-off, but showed great improvement in their spider-themed Argentine tango.
